One spiritual discipline God uses for our growth is spiritual reading, which, according to Robert Mulholland is “the discipline of openness to encounter God through the writings of the mothers and fathers of the church.” The Readers’ Collective is a group that allows in-depth discussions to grow in knowledge and understanding of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Meet with other Women’s Ministry Directors from our area to learn the latest Bible studies, find local speakers, and discover new creative ways to minister to women. Contact Katie to join this group.
Our hope is that you not only discover connection within our Network but that you find the encouragement and tools to connect with women in your neighborhood and community. With that in mind, perhaps you’d like to form a group tailored to your needs and interests. You determine the frequency, type of gathering (lunch, coffee, morning, evening), and content. Below are some ideas that may help in getting started.
Study Groups — Would you like to gather a few women to form a small accountability group as you study the Scriptures? One resource we recommend that is designed for mentoring/small group participation is Flourish.
Book Groups — Reading books and gathering for discussion is an easy way to engage women in community, whether in your church, neighborhood, or workplace.
Connection Groups — Interest-based connection groups can also be a great way to form community. Writing, photography, hiking, lunch bunch, working from home, walking, biking, gardening, interior decorating, fitness, or quilting are all possibilities. Women's Ministry Directors Gathering
January 31 from 1:00-2:00 PM
Anna Poff, WM Director at Cornerstone Baptist in Warrenton, will share the value of having group agreements (or covenants) for small groups and teach leaders how to develop them. Small group and Bible study leaders are also invited to attend this gathering with WMDs.

Do you need accountability for your writing? Join other NorthStar women for a committed time to write. Write-ins will be held on the third Wednesday of each month from 2:00-4:00 PM at Gateway Community Church in South Riding, beginning February 21. There is no need to register.
