Beauty For Ashes Africa

Beauty for Ashes is a US-based non-profit working in North Africa. We want to end exploitation, one girl at a time. We seek to prevent, rescue, and restore victims of human trafficking to the dignity intended to all humanity. We believe breaking the cycle of vulnerability in one person’s life will lead to the transformation of an entire family, the generations that follow, and the communities and nations in which they live.

Chrissy Duke, U.S Director of Beauty for Ashes, Africa, grew up at Columbia Baptist in Falls Church. Chrissy co-founded Beauty for Ashes, Africa when she and her husband lived in Morocco.

NOW Costa Rica

Neighbors Outreach Worldwide (NOW) Costa Rica works to help empower vulnerable women and girls learn how to combat the lure of the sex trade. Jaco is a leading sex tourism destination, so we aim to help prevent the next generation from being enticed into the work of prostitution and sex trade work.  We teach that our bodies are a temple designed for a purpose, and a healthy marriage and family is possible for all of God's people.

Moseka Action Project

Moseka Action Project (MAP) brings life-changing opportunities through the love of Jesus Christ to victimized women and their children in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They strive to make a lasting difference in the lives of women who have been ostracized by their families and communities by empowering survivors with entrepreneurial training, small business grants, and educational opportunities for both themselves and their children. MAP is a hope-bringing ministry for women and children in our world.

Bijou Mushengezi grew up in the DRC and founded Moseka Action Project, along with several other NorthStar women from her church, in 2018. Bijou serves as the President of the Board and Caitlin Sturgis as Vice-President.
