Ready to Quit?
Monday's Musings by Ursula Garcia-Mayes
When I saw my Sistah-in-Christ Juanita Smith rocking that T-shirt that boldly declared, "Quitting is Not an Option," it really made me think.
In my opinion, society praises relentless grit, treating every exit as a defeat, but that misses the bigger picture. Real spiritual and personal growth often requires us to pivot. What served you well yesterday may not fit where GOD is taking you tomorrow.
Reframe a pivot not as a setback, but as a strategic step forward.
I realize that quitting may seem like a defeat, but sometimes the real growth comes from shifting and transitioning. Staying put out of obligation breeds stagnation.
When we feel the urge to change, it could be GOD’s way of guiding us toward something greater. Transitioning isn’t about giving up; it’s about evolving and embracing new opportunities.
Moving to a different environment or community can spark fresh ideas and inspiration. It’s also about finding the right connections - sometimes, a shift can lead you to a community that uplifts and inspires you in a totally different way.
Life is full of different seasons, and what once served us may no longer fit. Instead of viewing a shift as a setback, see it as a strategic move in your journey.
Embrace the transition with reflection and prayer. Seek GOD’s guidance. Surround yourself with those who encourage your growth…and when you’re ready, take that leap of faith. Remember, every step you take is part of your unique story.
Transitioning isn’t necessarily a bad thing; it can be a beautiful evolution, a divine invitation to fulfill your purpose in new and exciting ways.
