March 8-14, 2026
As we reflect this month, we’ll spend intentional time in John chapter 1, slowing down to encounter not just what God has done, but who He is.
The Gospel of John was written with a unique purpose. Rather than focusing primarily on miracles or events, John consistently points us to God’s identity and character. Pay attention as you read to His eternal nature, His nearness, and His light. John’s account centers largely around Jerusalem, which is why you may notice stories or details that differ from the synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke), which highlight other regions and perspectives. John had a focus: revealing God’s heart. As you pray and reflect this month, allow yourself to move slowly. Let these verses shape not just your understanding of God, but your trust in Him. Let’s dive in.
This week's focus: The Word, the Light, the Beginning
This week's Bible reading: John 1:32-51
Day 1: John says he himself didn’t know Jesus. Write a bit about what it was like before you knew what you know now about Jesus. What do you discover?
Day 2: Jesus was chosen before creation. He was God’s plan A from the beginning. So were you. How does that make you feel or connect more with God’s plans?
Day 3: Jesus asks the two disciples, “What do you want?” How would you answer this question today?
Day 4: If Jesus gave you a new name, what would it be?
Day 5: Jesus sees you where you are sitting. What do you think He wants to say to you today?
Challenge: It’s Lent season. Making space for God is a big priority but we often don’t make it one. What would it look like for you to make space for Him? Make a plan to take a day (or an hour or a morning) and go be with Jesus. Create, walk, sit, or frolic. Just make it your own.
