Established by God; A Reflection on Psalm 7:9

by Amy Tromba - November 3

(The following is a reflection Amy wrote during our creative writing workshop entitled “Lectio Divina,” the process of writing from meditating on Scripture.)

Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end, and may you establish the righteous - you who test the minds and hearts, O righteous God! - Psalm 7:9

I am established by God.
I will not be easily moved.

My purpose is made firm in Him,
Deeply rooted in His Love.
I am secure and unshakable,
Regardless of my circumstances.

Confusion is replaced with confidence,
Fear with courage,
Weakness with strength.
Only He is able because He is God.

I rely on the truth of His Word
And trust He will keep His promises.
I draw near to Him in all things,
He turns my challenges into triumphs.

As we journey together,
He provides His perfect peace
And extends His grace and mercy
When I fail...and I do fail.

I am built up in Him,
Enabled to stand firm.
He turns my mountains into molehills,
My deserts into streams.

I am established by God.
I will not be easily moved.
