April 5-11, 2026

This month, we are focusing on some beautiful women of the Bible. We are drawn to their stories because they are flawed just like us. They have both weaknesses and strengths that shape their lives. We will see where they fall short and where they seek the Lord and the wisdom of others.

Each week, we will learn about a different woman’s character through selected Scripture passages. Over four weeks, we will get to know Rebekah, Leah, Hannah, and Abigail. If you have not studied the women of the Bible, you are in for a meaningful and enriching exploration of leadership.

Also, the Twelve Women of the Bible study is available on streaming platforms, so you can watch the videos after you read and spend time in your own prayer and reflection.

This week's focus: Rebekah

This week's Bible reading: Genesis 24 and 27

Day 1: Read Genesis chapter 24. Note your observations, questions, and applications.  Connect with the characters. Reading the chapters aloud, or listening to an audio format, may help the story come alive. Write a prayer thanking God for this story of a woman who was both strong and weak. Tell Him how you are both strong and weak in your life, temptations, and relationships.

Day 2: Rebekah was obedient to listen to God's prompting, following the servant's invitation and ultimately marrying Isaac. Where are you meeting God with resistance or hesitation?

Day 3: List several of the characteristics you see in Rebekah. She starts off endearing, obedient, and generous. Where do you relate to Rebekah the most?

Day 4: Read Chapter 27. Consider that Rebekah is an intelligent woman who knew she could be convincing.  Have you ever used your intelligence or creativity to be deceptive?

Day 5: Take some time today to reflect on what you read in the two chapters. What stands out? Sit with what provokes you from the passages. Write a prayer or go on a prayer walk and talk to God about it.

Challenge: This week, take a moment to think of how you might serve another person in your close circle. How can you be generous like Rebekah and her family?
