Prayer is foundational in the life of Apprentices of Jesus. Yet, we often need to demystify it due to the comparison or religious trap. Simply described, it is having a conversation with God. I often need to intentionally focus on what the Bible has to say about prayer to drown out the other voices in my head. So join me for the next few weeks as we look at Jesus’ response to the Disciples when they said, “Lord, teach us how to pray”.

This week's Bible reading: Mathew 6:9-13

Focal Verses: Matthew 6:12-13 and John 17:4, 15, 17

Day 1: What sins do you need to confess today? Forgiveness is available, but it requires your honesty and humility before God.

Day 2: Is there someone that you need to forgive? Holding on to hurts negatively affects you. Forgiving frees both the offender and offended.

Day 3: What temptations are you facing? Temptation does not come from God, but we need to go to Him for strength to resist it.

Day 4: Where do you need God’s protection righ now? You are not defenseless. Evil is real, but so is God’s power and His power is greater.

Day 5: Acknowledge God’s kingdom today for a shift in perspective. God’s reign is eternal and supreme. You are part of something far bigger than yourself.
