Prayer is foundational in the life of Apprentices of Jesus. Yet, we often need to demystify it due to the comparison or religious trap. Simply described, it is having a conversation with God. I often need to intentionally focus on what the Bible has to say about prayer to drown out the other voices in my head. So join me for the next few weeks as we look at Jesus’ response to the Disciples when they said, “Lord, teach us how to pray”.
This week's Bible reading: Mathew 6:9-13
Focal Verses: Matthew 6:9-11 and John 17:3-7
Day 1: What does it mean to you that God is a Father? God invites intimacy and relationship, not fear or distance. He is close and caring yet sovereign over all.
Day 2: How do you honor God’s name in your daily life? Reverence is a heart issue that is revealed through words, attitudes, and actions.
Day 3. Where in your life do you need God’s kingdom to come more fully? Inviting God’s rule means surrendering your own. It starts with small, everyday choices.
Day 4: Are you actively seeking God’s will over your own in your current season? What would it look like for you to obey immediately and joyfully in the here and now?
Day 5: What do you truly need from God today? God personalizes His provision to us and He is timely. Trusting Him means relying on Him daily.
