August 30-September 5, 2026

Communing with God is more than speaking words in prayer. It is abiding in His presence, listening for His voice through Scripture and the Holy Spirit, and enjoying the relationship made possible through Jesus Christ. Over the next few weeks the prayer prompts will be invitations to slow down, quiet your heart, and cultivate a deeper awareness of God's love, wisdom, and presence. As you pray, allow space not only to speak but also to listen, trusting that the Lord delights in drawing near to those who seek Him (James 4:8).

This week's focus: Communing

This week's Bible reading: Psalm 73:28

Day 1: Jesus, remind me that nothing can separate me from Your love, and let that truth deepen our communion.

Day 2: Lord, make worship the natural response of my heart as I experience Your goodness and faithfulness.

Day 3: Holy Spirit, form in me a heart that continually seeks Your presence before seeking answers or solutions.

Day 4: Father, let every part of my life become an offering of worship and a place where I meet with You.

Day 5: Jesus, teach me to walk with You moment by moment, inviting You into every thought, decision, and relationship.

Challenge: Hopefully you have completed some of the previous experiments, now spend time reflecting/journaling on these questions:

  • How has my awareness of God's presence grown?

  • Which spiritual practice most helped me commune with God?

  • What surprised me about spending unhurried time with Him?

  • What is one new rhythm I want to continue?

  • In what ways is God inviting me into deeper friendship with Him?
