October 18-24

Recently, I have been reminded all too well that we wrestle not with flesh and blood but with spiritual forces of this world. Spiritual warfare is a reminder that our faith is lived in the midst of a spiritual battle. Yet we do not face that battle in our own strength. Through Christ, we have truth to stand on, Scripture to guide us, prayer to strengthen us, and the armor of God to equip us. The next few weeks of prayer prompts invite you to draw closer to God, recognize His presence, stand firm in faith, and surrender every battle into His capable hands. You will be invited to the same reflections each day: What am I facing? What does Scripture say? What will I surrender, believe, or obey today? Let’s go!

This week's focus: Spiritual Warfare

This week's Bible reading: Matthew 4:1-11

Day 1: “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7) What am I facing? What does Scripture say? What will I surrender, believe, or obey today? Lord, give me wisdom and courage to resist temptation and stand firmly in my faith.

Day 2: “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7) What am I facing? What does Scripture say? What will I surrender, believe, or obey today? God, help me remember that spiritual warfare begins with surrender—not striving. Teach me to submit every part of my life to You.

Day 3: “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood.” (Ephesians 6:12) What am I facing? What does Scripture say? What will I surrender, believe, or obey today? Father, help me remember that people are not my enemy. Give me grace to respond to others with love while remaining alert to spiritual realities.

Day 4: “Test the spirits to see whether they are from God.” (1 John 4:1) What am I facing? What does Scripture say? What will I surrender, believe, or obey today? Holy Spirit, sharpen my discernment so that I can recognize what is true, what is deceptive, and what is leading me toward or away from Christ.

Day 5: “You are the God who sees me.” (Genesis 16:13) What am I facing? What does Scripture say? What will I surrender, believe, or obey today? Lord, reveal any lie I have believed about You, myself, or others. Replace it with Your truth.

Challenge: My Spiritual Battle Map. Create a visual map of an area where you are currently struggling—fear, temptation, discouragement, anger, comparison, doubt, or something else. Around the center, add Scriptures, prayers, people who support you, and truths that help you stand firm.
